Relationships between morphological characters of the generative organs of larch and ecogeographic and climatic factors in the Russian Far East have been analyzed. It has been shown that local ecological factors have an effect on metric morphological characters of cones such as the length, width, and number of seed scales, which are not usually used as diagnostic characters. On the other hand, a major proportion of variation at the regional level in characters regarded as taxonomically significant is accounted for by geographic and climatic factors of the environment.
