Distribution patterns of potassium compounds along the profiles of different soils in the Russian Far East are described. The total potassium content is high in all the soils, while the contents of exchangeable and nonexchangeable potassium vary from medium to very high values. A positive correlation is found between the contents of labile potassium compounds and the clay fraction, whereas a negative correlation exists between the contents of total potassium and the clay fraction.
