The Geometrigae of the Amur basin is still poorly studied. This paper is devoted to review of geometers of the Bastak Reserve, which is situated on the north of Jewish Autonomous Region of Russia, in southern spurs of the Burea Range. A local geometrid fauna in the Amur basin is treated first in the paper. The review is based on the original materials collected in Jun and July 2004 and 2005, and on early published data. In result of the investigation 201 species of Geometridae was found in the Reserve, including 11 species recorded for the first time in the Amur basin (Abraxas niphonibia, Anticypella diffusaria, Cleora insolita, Gandaritis fixseni, Heterolocha laminaria, Heterothera kurenzovi, Hydrelia adesma, Hydrelia gracilipennis, Menophra senilis, Selenia sordidaria, Xanthorhoe evae). Presumably this number of species is forms about 70-75% from total geometrid diversity in the Reserve. Fauna of geometrids in the Bastak Reserve has distinct woodland feature, rich and characterized by predomination of East Asian species in spite of the investigated territory is located near north limit ob distribution of Manchurian temperate forests and separated from their mine body massif by almost woodless Amur valley. So, the Bastak Reserve can be treated as rich refugium of East Asian north-temperate insect fauna.
