The morphological characteristics, taxonomic composition, and diff erential diagnosis of the subgenus Bradytus and 18 its species in the fauna of Russia are given; the distribution of the taxa is described, and a key is compiled. A new species, Amara khasanensis sp. n. from southern Primorskii Territory, is described; it diff ers in the densely and deeply punctate basal and lateral pronotal margins and the body underside, in the presence of a brush of fi ne hairs in the distal quarter of the inner margin of the male mesotibia, and in a saccular endophallus with an extensive area with sclerotized spines on the right wall. Based on examination of the type material, Bradytus armenus Mo tschulsky, 1844 is transferred from the synonyms of Amara (Bradytus) apricaria (Paykull, 1790) as a junior synonym of Amara (Amathitis) abdominalis (Mo tschulsky, 1844). The lectotypes of Acrodon uralensis Mo tschulsky, 1844, Bradytus pallidulus Mo tschulsky, 1844, and Amara reitteri Tschi tschérine, 1894 are designated. Amara macra is recorded for the fi rst time for Sakhalin Island.
