Although Amur Ratsnake belongs to the genus Elaphe, whose members are considered primarily arboreal, Elaphe schrenckii tend to choose gravel and rocky riverbanks, surroundings of bridges, sunny forest edges and clearings for breeding. Here we provide evidence of arboreal mating in this species.
