Results of the analysis of the complete mitochondrial genomes of Salvelinus (Salmonidae) species for evidence of recombination using various recombination detection methods implemented in the Recombination Detection Program (RDP4) (Martin et al., 2010). The comparison of KF974451–KF974452 sequences of mitochondrial genome of white-spotted char S. leucomaenis (Shedko, 2014) and KF513161 sequence of mitochondrial genome of S. leucomaenis (Zhang et al., 2013) as well as NC_000860 (S. fontinalis), NC_000861 (S. alpinus) and KC897653 (Parahucho perryi) sequences by using the RDP4 software (Martin et al., 2010) revealed that the KF513161 sequence is a combination of sequences from two distinct (4.9% divergence) mitochondrial DNA lineages – lineage of S. fontinalis, represented by NC_000860 sequence (positions 1000–15,359 and 15,869–16,337 in KF513161 sequence; 0.2% divergence) and white-spotted char, represented by the KF974451 and KF974452 sequences (positions 15,360–15,868 and 16,338–999 in KF513161 sequence; 0.6–1.0% divergence).
