Summary. Calcium-dependent protein kinases (СDPKs), which are important sensors of Ca2+ flux in plants, are known to play essential roles in plant development and adaptation to abiotic stress. In the present work, we obtained transgenic cell lines of Vitis amurensis overexpressing VaCPK20 gene using agrobacterium-mediated transformation. We analysed the effect of salinity (NaCl 50, 100, and 150 mM), heat (+34oC) and cold (+16oC) stresses on the growth of two VaCPK20-transgenic cell cultures of V. amurensis. According to the analysis, overexpression of the VaCPK20 gene increased resistance of two V. amurensis cell lines to cold and heat stress and only slightly increased resistance to NaCl treatments. The data suggest that VaCPK20 gene may regulate the response of V. amurensis to temperature stress. Using floral-dip transformation method, we transformed A. thaliana with VaCPK20 gene in planta and obtained transgenic A. thaliana plants overexpressing VaCPK20 gene.
