These soils have almost white eluvial horizon (albic) and spodic illuvial horizon which con-tain amorphous materials composed of aluminum, iron and organic matter. According to mor-phological properties 4 soil types and 10 subtypes of podzols were find in the territory stud-ied. Each taxa of podzols are described. We can estimated the podzols diversity of North Sakhalin Island as high.
