Aluns tschemrylica sp. nov. is described on the basis of anatomical features of the fossil wood. Two specimens of petrified wood were collected from the Paleocene-Lower Eocene of Cape Tschemryl (Tschemurnaut Bay, Kamchatka). This is the first find of fossil wood belonging to the genus Aliuts (the family Betulaceae) from the Tertiary deposits of the Russian Far East.
