Descriptions and keys are provided for the five species of Cryptovalsa and eight species of Diatrypella now known from the Great Smoky Mountain National Park in the eastern United States. Ten of these are new records for the Park. Cryptovalsa mori (Nitschke) Lar. N. Vassiljeva comb. nov., Cryptovalsa opaca (Cooke) Lar. N. Vassiljeva comb. nov. and Diatrypella major (Berl.) Lar. N. Vassiljeva comb. nov. are proposed as new combinations for the respective taxa.
