The thirteen-year cytogenetic investigations of Daurian ground squirrel Spermophilus dauricus (2n=36 NF=72) in peripheral part of the area showed: 1) The distinction concerned the secondary constriction (SC) in homologues of marker chromosome. The gomozygotes with SC (28%) was found in only one fild season. The animals of the other years were heterozygotes. 2) One autosome pair with almost the whole arm heterochromatic is of great interest because the size of the C-bands are changed in two times. The heterozygote animals with this type autosome predominate in the population. 3) The NORs are located on 4 pairs of autosomes. The NOR in the marker chromosome correlates with presence of SC. The second NOR appears in telomere of heterochromatic arm of the autosome of variable size. The negative correlation is observed between length of hetorochromatic arm and size of NOR site. 4) Spermophilus dauricus with B-chromosome are founded in Sciuridae family for the first time.
