Fauna and quantitative composition of zoobentos were studied at different sites of the Amur River and water reservoirs of its basin. Samples were taken at summer 1980, 1989 and 1997 and compared with historic data of 1946-1947. Poor water quality (VI-V classed under Goodnight-Whitley classification) were recorded in the Amur River in 1997. The factors contribution to increasing water pollution are discussed.
