The chromosome numbers of 11 species of Artemisia collected in Vladivostok area, Russia were studies. The chromosome numbers of 2n=50 for A. umbrosa fnd 2n=16 for A. sylvestris were reported here for the first time. The chromosome numbers of 2n=34 for A. argyi, 2n=18 for A. gmeline, and 2n=34 for A. rubripes reported here were new to the species and different from the previous counts.
