This paper presents the results of investigation of the East Asian leaf-rolling weevil Cycnotrachelodes cyanopterus , which has formed a new trophic association with the North American black locust ( Robinia pseudoacacia , Fabaceae) in the south of the Russian Far East. The leaf-rolling weevil was found on Robinia pseudoacacia in 15 of 17 surveyed settlements in Primorsky Territory in 2025, indicating its widespread distribution and successful adaptation to the new host plant. A total of 30 weevil adults were collected in these settlements: 10 adults were captured feeding on the black locust leaves in the field, and 20 were reared in the laboratory from leaf rolls of the black locust. The largest number of the beetles (12 adults from 7 model trees) was documented in the settlement of Slavyanka. Further observations of the native beetle populations on alien plant are needed to study the insect harmfulness and invasive potential.
