Changes in the species composition and abundance of Orthoptera in the vicinity of Anisimovka over the past half-century are traced. A total of 63 species from 9 families have been recorded from here. The species Xya japonica (Haan, 1844) is new to the local fauna. The invasion of Leptophyes albovittata (Kollar, 1833) into the Asian part of Russia has been recorded for the first time. Changes in the species composition and abundance of orthopterans in the most typical habitats of Anisimovka are due to the combined influence of a number of factors, of which the most significant is anthropogenic (changes in the economic activity of the local population and intensive construction). The abundance of some species was affected by both natural succession of vegetation and climate change. The invasion of an alien species had virtually no effect on the succession process.
