The paper considers practical experience in the use of artificial intelligence in taxonomic research. Modern models can be applied to language editing, extraction of data from catalogs and old literature, preparation of species descriptions and reference lists, literature search, communication with editors and reviewers, as well as image processing. Artificial intelligence can significantly accelerate routine tasks and in some cases improve the presentation of material, but its results require mandatory verification, since it is not an error-free tool and does not replace the researcher.
