New microcloning techniques were developed and tested in order to propagate valuable cultivars (cv) of Vaccinium vitis-idaea ('Red Pearl', 'Koralle') and Oxycoccus macrocarpus ('Early Black', 'Crowley') plants. Sterile cultures were obtained and propagated. It was shown that sterilization with 0.1% diocide for 2 min allowed to receive up to 85% of sterile viable explants. Cultivation on a nutrient WPM medium supplemented with N6-(2-isopentyl)adenine (2-iP, 8 mg/l) and indole-3-acetic acid (IAA, 4 mg/L) provided multiple microshoot establishment in Vaccinium cvs, and microplant formation in Oxycoccus cvs. The maximum morphometric parameters were observed for Vaccinium cv 'Red Pearl' and Oxycoccus cv 'Crowley'. Successful adaptation of V. vitis-idaea microshoots and O. macrocarpus microplants to the closed soil conditions allowed to avoid additional step of in vitro rooting.
