This paper presents the results of a recent inventory of the subfamily Apoidea fauna in Russia. Russian bee fauna currently comprises 1,268 species from 66 genera and six families, while the digger wasp fauna comprises 729 species from 88 genera and three families. The challenges and prospects for the future study of this group of insects in Russia are discussed.
