A new fern Onychiopsis compressa sp. nov. (Dicksoniaceae) from the upper part of the Frentsevka Formation of southern Primorye, Russian Far East is described. This species is characterized by tripinnate fronds with entire or lobed linear pinnules. The leaves are in a rosette. The fertile structures, corresponding to the pinnules, are alternate, narrowly elliptical or linear-lanceolate, with a pointed apex and a short stalk, located in the middle part of the sterile fronds, in the same plane as the other pinnules and pinnae. In addition to adult leaves, rhizomes, seedlings and young plants are described. Type material comes from the autochthonous locality of ferns and herbaceous angiosperms Bolshoy Kuvshin, which reflected a pioneer community, occupied flat plains between river channels. The age of this locality is determined to be early Albian.
