Using light and scanning electron microscope observations of Early Miocene diatom flora from South Primorye has revealed two species Alveolophora hachiyaensis (Tanaka) Houk, Klee et Tanaka and Aulacoseira elliptica Tsoy (Aulacoseiraceae) with elliptical valve faces, which are new for this region. New data expand the list of stratigraphically important taxa of the Early Miocene from Southern Primorye.
