A new species Euhyponomeutoides kangauziensis sp. n. is described from the Far East of Russia. The genus Niphonympha Meyrick and the species N. vera Moriuti are new for the fauna of Russia. Photographs of adults and female genitalia are given for both species. A historical review of nomenclatural acts and taxonomic changes within the genus Niphonympha is provided to point out erroneous interpretations in scientific publications.
