The main depositing environments of urban landscapes are soils and bottom sediments of watercourses. The research aims to identify the content of the main chemical elements in these components of the urban environment to determine the degree of pollution and environmental risk. X-ray fluorescence analysis on an EDX-800HS (Shimadzu) spectrometer determined the total content of elements in soils and sediments. A decrease in acidity (to a slightly alkaline environment) and increased phosphorus content (to an extremely high level) in soils and bottom sediments were observed as the anthropogenic load increased. In the urbanization process, Pb, Zn, Mn, Cu, Ni, and Cr accumulate to the greatest extent in the upper horizons of soils, and Zn, Cu, Mn, Pb, and V accumulate in bottom sediments. The values of various geoecological indicators of the state of the urban environment (Igeo, PI,NPI) indicate the degradation of the surface layer of soils and a strong degree of pollution with heavy metals, pollution of bottom sediments varies from medium to strong. The chemical pollution indicator Zc characterizes the level of contamination of soils and bottom sediments as acceptable. The potential environmental risk (PERI) in the studied area is insignificant; the level of environmental risk for benthic organisms of the river is medium-low.
