The sorption properties of diatomites from the Pionersky deposit (Primorsky Krai) in relation to the organic dye of cationic type - methylene blue (MB) - have been studied. The isotherm of MB sorption under static conditions at 20°C, the ratio of solid and liquid phases T:L = 1:1000, in the range of dye concentrations 50-500 mg/l is presented. The kinetics of MB sorption at temperatures of 20, 40 and 60 °C was investigated; the kinetic curves of MB adsorption by diatomite were analyzed by chemical kinetics models.
