It is always interesting to learn where the lives of outstanding people began, where the origins of their gifts were, why and how they managed to achieve so much. Therefore information on the family of Vladimir Leontievich Komarov, on the childhood and youth of the famous botanist, the corresponding member (1914) and the academician (1920), the Vice President (1930-1936) and the President (1936-1945) of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the Hero of Socialist Labor (1943), the President of All-Union Botanic Society (since 1930), and the honorary President of the Geographical Society of the USSR (since 1940) is so valuable.
