The larva of a species of Sinodiapterna Dellacasa is described and illustrated for the first time. Based on larval characters, the genus Sinodiapterna is close to the genus Diapterna Horn 1887 by the absence of symmetric rows of spinules on the anal sternite and the presence of stridulatory teeth on the palpifer, but both differ in the chaetotaxy of the maxillae. Of the known Palaearctic Aphodiini larvae, the described larva is similar to that of the genus Eupleurus Mulsant 1842 in the presence of a single patch of spinules on the anal sternite and the first antennomere being longer than the second, but both differ by the chaetotaxy of the head capsule and clypeus, and the arrangement of spinules on the anal sternite.
