The annotated checklist of 376 vascular plant species in the flora of the Nature ychium virginianum, Euphrasia aff. brevipila, Hierochloë kamtschatica, and Poa sergievskajae were found for the fi rst time in the fl ora of Sakhalin. The new records for the Mt. Vaida and its vicinity are Asplenium ruta-muraria, Allium ochotense, Carex melanocarpa, Poa radula, Corydalis ambigua, Salix hastata, Saxifraga rebunshirensis etc. Nature Monument “Gora Vaida” is of great interest from a botanical point of view, as the enclave of biodiversity, where both northern and southern species of Far East flora are concentrated. Along with other protected natural territories of Sakhalin, it plays an important role in the preservation of rare species of insular fl ora and rare plant communities.
