A brief review of the properties of cyanobacteria is given, which make it possible to consider them as the basis of biological products for use in the agricultural industry, in particular the production of phytohormones and hormone-like substances. It has been revealed that many species are capable of forming auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins, jasmonic acid, as well as the flavonoid and terpenoid group of substances. The positive results of using cyanobacterial drugs for growing crops throughout the world are given. Investigation of the formation of indole acetic acid and cytokinins and the growth-stimulating activity of Nostoc punctiforme (Ktitz.) Hariot and Roholtiella sp. Bohunicka, Pietrasiak et Johansen revealed different phytohormone levels in the culture medium of the strains, as well as the positive effect of presowing seed inoculation on the length of the stem and tomato seedling. The possibility of using them to increase the yield of agricultural crops is considered as an alternative to mineral and organic fertilizers, the use of which can lead to soil pollution and disturbance of the stability of agro-ecosystems.
