The history of the research in the Laboratory of Entomology of the Institute of Biology and Soil Sciences in 1962-2016 as foundation and publication of the series "Key to the insects of the Soviet/Russian Far East" (1986-2011), "Annotated Catalogue of the insects of Russian Far East" (since 2012), participation in the international programs and expeditions is given. The main scientific results of entomological group for the last 55 years on the systematics and faunistics, ecology and evolution of insects are summarized.
