The issues of professional forest education of lower-level specialists for the forest economy are considered. The activity of Nikolskaya (opened in 1909), Khekhtsirskaya (1912) and Perskaya (1913) lower-level forest schools on personnel training of forest conductors in Primorsky and Amur regions in pre-revolutionary time is characterized. Attention is drawn to the need for training of specialists with higher and secondary education for forestry in the region.
