NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS CHRYSOSPLENIUM (SAXIFRAGACEAE) FROM THE RUSSIAN FAR EAST

The description of a new species Chrysosplenium krestovii Barkalov et Koldaeva from Badzhalsky Ridge, southern Russian Far East is given, attributed to the series Pilosa Maxim. of the type section of the genus Chrysosplenium L. (Saxifragaceae Juss.). The species is characterized by epigeous assimilative shoots, and specialized thin white subterranean stolons terminated with a large bulbil that distinguishes it from the related species С pilosum Maxim. and С schagae Kharkev. et Vyshin. It grows in groups on wet melkozem on rock ledges near a stream in the forest zone (Piceajezoensis, Abies nephrolepis) in the community of green mosses and vascular plants, such as Pentactina shlothgaurae, Athyrium sinense, Diplasi-um sibiricum, Viola biflora, Saussurea mandshurica, Valeriana fauriei, as well in moist shady places along the same stream. Endemic.
