In the Russian Far East two bromoviruses were identified. One is in the wild-growing uniparous vetch (Vicia unijuga A. Br.) with mosaic symptoms, presented by the four strains (mosaic, necrotic, spotted and Amur). Another is identified from wild cereals Elytrigia repens (L.) Desv. ex Nevski, Spodiopogon sibiricus Trin. and identified as the awnless brome mosaic virus. Their biological, physical, chemical and antigenic properties were studied. It is noted that the virus strains from wild species cause very serious diseases of cultivated legume species and legumes in natural foci. In one isolate of uniparous vetch with mosaic symptoms, the virus presumably identified as satellite is revealed.
