In December 2011, an alive neritimorph limpet of the genus Septaria Ferussac, 1907 was found in the Cai River estuary (Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province, South Vietnam) on floating aquatic plants. The false-limpet is identified as an intermediate ecological form of the species Septaria tesellata (Lamarck, 1816). Genus Septaria is a new record for Vietnam. Data on taxonomy, external morphology and distribution of the S. tesellata are presented.
