The nature, the history of organization, the problems and perspectives of the Marine Reserve “Zaliv Vostok” (Vostok Bay, Sea of Japan, Russia) are described. The threat for the nature and for the recreation area of 200 thousand people of the Russian Far East from the oil terminal planned by the "Rosneft" is also discussed. An alternative to the oil terminal – the recreational town – is suggested.
