A new species of the genus Triphosa Stephens, 1829 (Lepidoptera: Geometridae: Larentiinae), Triphosa sergeisinevi sp. n., is described from East Asia. Before, usually it was considered as Triphosa dubitata (Linnaeus, 1758), or as subspecies T. dubitata amblychiles Prout, 1937. The new species is related to the T. dubitata, but differs significantly from it morphologically and genetically. Also, it cannot be classified as T. amblychiles, which was recently elevated to a separate species. Known distribution of the new spices is limited to south of continental part of Far East of Russia, to Changbai/Baekdu Mountains in North-East China and North Korea, and to mountains of north-east of South Korea. Ecologically, the new species prefer inhabit mountainous belt with coniferous forests and kurums (stone runs).
