Two new species of the genus Protaphis Börner, 1952 are described from Kazakhstan. Protaphis inulicola sp. n. was found on the roots of Inula caspica in the Ili Valley, South-Eastern Kazakhstan. Protaphis kokshetavica sp. n. lives on the roots of Jurinea multiflora in the Akmola Region, Northern Kazakhstan.
