Expeditions of V.L. Komarov to the areas difficult of access and poorly explored by then have enriched not only botany but also the geographical science with the multitude of new facts. An idea of the meridional zonality of organisms formulated by him in 1921 has been reflected in geography and is widely used as the sector concept at the present time. In parallel with taking of zonal regularities of landscape distribution into account allows to determine more properly the continentality-oceancity extent of the territory. The use of such an approach allowed obtaining a great deal of new data about the landscape nature as a whole and their separate components.
