The publication of series "Vascular plants of Soviet Far East" (1985-l996) (VP) in eight volumes is finished. The first results of this total revision arc discussed. The VP covers 4178 species in 962 genera and 159 families: 4113 native and naturalized species in 949 genera and 158 families and 65 cultural species in 23 genera; one family (Elacagnaceae) is presented cultural plants only. The treatments of taxa for VP arc prepared by 40 specialists from former USSR. The information about treatments of taxa are prepared by each specialist for VP arc indicated.
