As a result of the author's field investigations from 21 July to 10 August 1991 in 67 localities of the middle part of the Chegitun river basin (East Chukotka) 310 species from 123 genera and 44 families of vascular plants were collected. The richest families are: Cyperaceae (39 spp.), Poceae (39), Asteraceae (27) and Brassicaceae (27). The richest genera are: Carex (29 spp.), Salix (15) and Saxitraga (14). Many species occur on the calcareous outcrops. There are some endemic, rare and threatened species. 273 species are common for Chukotka and Alaska. There is only one adventive species. The authors propose to include the Chegitun river basin to the Bering International Park.
