A new species of oak, Quercus primorica, is described from the Pliocene of the Pavlovka lignite field (southern Primorye) on the basis of fossil wood. The fossil wood of oak is reported for the first time from the Russian Far East. Quercus primorica resembles Q. mongolica, Q. dentata, and Q. crispula in wood anatomy, being slightly more similar to the last species.
